To Blog, or Not To Blog... And, if Not...Why?

Blogs are important business tools. Information can be easily posted, and given the evolution of this topic-based system, Blogs are excellent tools for SMB and major companies.

To blog, or not -- the answer is start a blog, update it on a regular basis, and use various ping services to reach millions of readers all over the world! If you don't have the time to blog, the writing skills, or if you can't assign the blog to one of your staff, then hire a freelancer, or an agency.

A blog is not a commercial, so start from that point. In the past, a number of major companies have made this mistake...so take heed.

This Doesn't Happen Often, But...

This type of rant, which easily could have been on a blog instead of the Forbes website where it does appear, doesn't happen often. We've made up with Forbes given the letter of apology from Steve Forbes.

Dear Editors:

The insulting Michael Noer article "Don't Marry a Career Woman" was not only tasteless, it was totally devoid of any humor. Perhaps, I missed the "and part humorous" section mentioned by Forbes editor-in-chief Steve Forbes...or, maybe it's a "guy" thing. On the other hand, it could be my missing Y chromosome. I must remember to have that checked. In fact, I'll put that reminder next to my Forbes subscription renewal form...the one I don't intend to fill out. In order to keep things organized, I'll keep the reminders next to my Forbes media kit, the one I won't be needing. To clarify, none of this is intended to be humorous. Educational perhaps, but not humorous.

Sincerely,

Diane T. Creston
