HIV Aids and Malaria Destroys Lives
08/12/08 - New York, New York - A spokesperson for Creston Advertising & Marketing, Inc. is very pleased to announce that the New York based marketing and branding agency is developing additional Medinostics Aids Test Kit packaging and labels.

In September of 2006, Creston
designed the initial logo for its Medinostics LLC client, a manufacturer of medical test kits. The agency also completed package designs for the Medinostics Malaria Test Kits and the Medinostics Aids Test Kits, the first two of 28 kits, slated for distributed to third-world countries.

Worldwide, HIV/AIDS and malaria contribute to the large and growing causes of the death and disease burden, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, researchers write. HIV is the leading cause of death worldwide (among those ages 15-59), according to the UNAIDS 2006 Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic.

Malaria kills more than a million people worldwide each year with 90 percent of them in Africa; 70 percent are children under the age of five. A recent report by two United Nations agencies, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) #151 outlines the enormity of Africa's malaria problem and calls on the global community to step up its efforts to combat the disease.

Every year, nearly 1,500 cases of malaria are reported in the United States. Most of these cases occur in American residents who become infected while traveling abroad. Up to ten of these malaria patients will die each year, but almost all of these deaths are preventable.

Diane T. Creston, president and creative director of Creston Advertising & Marketing states, "We're pleased with our involvement in this design project. Our designs and packaging play a small part in the life saving work that Medinostics is involved with. Without these tests, there can be no treatment, or intervention. As a branding and marketing agency, we believe in giving back to the community whenever possible and we're very proud to contribute to this project."

As Creston's spokesperson, community liaison, and steward for corporate citizenship, Diane has overseen charitable programs that include auctions and clothing drives for the homeless in New York, contribution drives and public relations for the Elmsford Animal Shelter,
annual toy drives and clothing for Westchester based children, and the transportation of diapers and toys to underprivileged children in Chicago.
