A television show excerpt that profiles Lance Heft, the son of a steelworker from a very small Pennsylvania
blue-collar town. Redheaded, freckle-faced, and tenacious
from day one, Lance had a many passions...helping others, being a
leader and an entrepreneur.
At the age of seven, he began to collect and recycle newspapers for profit. In fourth grade, his
all-time favorite teacher, Louise Shingler Zulick saw
a special light in Lance and she encouraged him to continue to be his
own person. She wrote the inspirational words of William Shakespeare,
"To thine own
self be true," on his report card, and told Lance that he had
helped her be true to herself also.
This was a pivotal moment for both
of them. From that day forward, Lance used these powerful words as a guide
for his life
